Did I miss the part where you sold your R6?  Are you seriously getting a replacement bike?

R6 has been retired. Bad forks, bad wheels, tweaked frame. It's always been like that, but I've managed. Now it's to the point where it's not safely rideable and I can't justify continually sinking money into it. The bike hasn't been sold because it has too much sentimental value and not enough retail value haha.

But I'm just window shopping for now. Have to save up for a honeymoon.

You need to buy a bike!

I'm going to Europe in the spring, so I'm hoarding cash for the moment. But it's on like donkey kong after that! So many choices not enough cash for more than one...

04-08 R1 - Purely cosmetic attraction, too much bike, especially since my fav tracks are the likes of Streets and LVMS
Duc 848/GSXR 750 - The idea of a little extra but not too much is very enticing
1098 - Bad economy + 1198 intro making for some good deals
Gray Market 2 smoke - So tempting, but I definitely don't have the skills or time to maintain one of these

Really leaning towards the R1 at the moment

1.  You need to update your avatar!   ;D

2.  Nice list.  How's the used 848 market?  So damn tempting... I dig the white.

Sheesh...happy?

I haven't come across many good deals for the 848. I'm seeing 848's go for about 10-12K with 1098's going for the same price! Might as well get the bang for the buck.

For those prices, I could buy a pimp R1 for the street and have enough left over for a track bike. But man, just something about those v-twins...such a dream to ride. But this one is just done...full dyno tuned exhaust, rearsets, and some bits and pieces to make it look clean...all I would get for this are some CRG levers...and of course I would put the mirrors back on...what a squid...I'd probably be saving his life by taking that bike off his hands. Isn't that reason enough to get it?

That could be a slogan, save a squid, buy his bike.

Haha, the track bike thing was just for cost comparison. I don't mind taping up the lights and taking the mirrors off. Plus, with two other bikes in the stable (albeit none are mine haha), I don't think I need a dedicated track bike. I had a talk with the CFO yesterday, and I maybe picking up a set up wheels sooner than later. I came across this little gem the other day...

Do you  guys know anything about these Rizla Replicas? The plastic and exhaust in the picture doesn't jive with the Rizla Replica from the factory. The factory version seems more subdued and  uses dual Yosh exhaust. I think this is just a standard GSXR with some nice plastic and aftermarket bits. I'm really digging the way this bike is set up aesthetically, but it's always a bit worrisome when you don't see the original bodywork on a bike for sale.

I'm going to call and dig as much as I can, but at the end of the day, I'm going to need a test ride on the thing.

What do you guys think?

Talked to the guy and I'm really hesitant now.

-This is a bank repo
-He indicates the bike has modified suspension and it helps control the wheelies when compared to his other GSXR 1000. I wonder if he even knows that it might be in C mode, where a ton of power is cut off. He also doesn't know what is modified with the suspension.
-He says the bike idles differently compared to his other GSXR 1000 and sounds modified - duh, exhaust
-He says the bike has full titanium exhaust but he doesn't know if there's a power commander
-He won't let me test ride it

Redeeming points
-The VIN is right on the website and the Carfax came back clean
-He's willing to take it to West Coast GP cycles for inspection (including dyno) and willing to negotiate the price to account for the inspection costs

Bottom line - I don't think he knows anything about the bike given that it's a repo. And I don't think he knows anything about bikes.

And I don't think he knows anything about bikes.

Haha yeah, he doesn't sound too knowledgeable.  And that's definitely an aftermarket kit.  At least the VIN and Carfax came back clean and he's willing to have it inspected.  I'm a little surprised it has that many miles, but as long as it's in good shape and WCGP inspects it...

Any other good ones out there?  I would think it's a serious buyer's market.

HAHAHA!  What a douche!  Are you kidding me?  That is priceless!

I love how Chris Vermeulen wore flip-flops to a photo shoot.   :owned
