Honda Cam chain tensioner
« on: February 26, 2010, 05:12:42 PM »
Well I just got done replacing the cam chain tensioner(tecnically its called the tension lifter) on my CBR again. The reason I did it is because at around 5-7000 RPM it rattles so bad it sounds like the engine is going to explode. Its a bitch of a job. I just don't understand why Honda can't make a CCTL that is designed well enough that it doesn't do this.

I know Honda has a reputation for being of better quality but I'm not buying it. Out of all the bikes we have, it is no better than anything else.

Next up is the forks on the SV.  Thanks to Andrew Trevitt, I've got a complete set of Traxxion Dynamics drop in fork internals.

There is no way I would've attempted that job - nice work.  And nice grab on the fork internals!

That sounds like a seriously involved job, Jim - kudos for even trying!

Congrats on the fork internals!

Got the Forks done on the SV finally!

It took some of the harshness out of the forks. Its not an OMG change, but its definitely better.
