2010 MotoGP - Qatar
« on: April 11, 2010, 11:59:12 PM »
Holy smokes!  OK who saw today's race?  Good stuff man!

Now, I don't want to be branded a complainer, but I don't like Speed Channel's new MotoGP format very much.  How dare they skip the podium debriefings?  And, without disclosing details for those who haven't viewed the race yet, there were three crashes - NONE of which were shown save for one half-assed shot of the last one.  What gives?

And for God's sake - it's LorenZo, NOT "LorenTHo"!  I don't care what your high school Spanish teacher told you, goddammit!  What's next, Scott Russel doing the Speed TV intros?   :rotflmao:   "He's been rl fast in that turn two area today ..."  Sorry Scott, I couldn't resist bro.   :owned

I will say, the new graphics that they had (the little pics of the riders), and the fact that there is an intro was pretty cool.  However, and I can't be sure of this without re-watching it, but I think they cut out some of the action to allow for the intro bits.  And I can't get over the lack of crash replays and podium interviews.

Still - what a start to the season!

Both MotoGP and Moto2 were amazing. The best racing I've seen in MotoGP in ages.
I need the sunshine in the morning, I'm heading for the open road.

I loved it!  It was broadcast live if I'm not mistaken ;D, so I can forgive them for missing the podium de-briefs.  Camera feeds are strictly up to Dorna, so anyone broadcasting the race is stuck with whatever shot Dorna is showing - Speed has no control over what's being shown.  I actually liked the broadcast though, especially since it was in HD!

The races were awesome too.  Still can't believe Stoner crashed out; thought he had it in the bank.  Rossi really just turned it on and got away from Dovi when he needed to - still unbelievable.  Nicky and Ben, great stuff.

Gotta watch the Moto2 race now - we recorded it.

It's crazy seeing Simoncelli, Bauttista, Kalio, and Barbara racing in MotoGP - Kalio crashed out, the rest were in the back.  Poor Melandri ended up dead last I saw.

Dude - poor Nicky.  He so should have had third.  Good stuff from Spies, even Edwards - he was 8th.
