Yes, welcome to several weeks ago - it's been busy at work, so I am finally getting these up.
We went on Saturday - it was VERY windy, as windy as I've seen it in that area - 20 mph sustained wind, gusts up to 40. Imagine racing in those conditions!
There was seriously NO ONE there. I've gone for the past three years now and I have seen it dwindle each year-over-year. Frankly, this year was pathetic. There was barely any supermoto racing in the parking lot, there was NO FOOD VENDOR AREA! The King Taco truck was out - they served me a COLD bean and cheese burrito! - and a hot dog / burger stand. Other than that, I hope you like pretzels or the hot dogs and burgers that the track concessions sold, 'cause that was it. Consequently, I drank more than I would have otherwise.

Of the three garage areas, only two were utilized and the second one was barely used. It was a real ghost town:

Supermoto:

We talked to Ben Bostrom for a while - he's very nice, and is one of my favorites in AMA - and I got a pic with him (yes I am a nerd):

Here he is later flying along the front straight. He had an off day for sure, he ended up 8th and was way, way behind the leaders:

Pegram, Yates, Herrin and Josh Hayes (my other AMA fav

) were duking it out at the front. Hayes led for a while - the crowd went nuts - but Pegram eventually came back to win it. His pit, which we somehow always end up sitting above, went nuts. I wish I'd taken that picture instead of the crappy long shot of the finish line.
I'll say this: Pegram's pit and crew were much busier during the race than the other teams that I could see:

Probably my best pic from the weekend (besides the one with B.Boz

) - Nicky Hayden was on hand to support Tommy:

All in all a good superbike race, though my dad and friend wanted to bail right after since we were there like 4 hours waiting for the wind to die down before we saw ANY bikes on the track.
