Ride Saturday 4/17/10
« on: April 15, 2010, 11:34:21 AM »
Thinking of getting out on Saturday; I could use the road therapy.  Anyone else in?  Possible routes:

1.  PCH > Ventura > breakfast burritos > Hwy 33 > back to Ojai > coffee > home (early start)
2.  back roads to Nuke's + breakfast
3.  Malibu roads + Canyon Grill

Edit: #2 wins, 10:00 AM meet time @ Starbucks on Foothill at Oro Vista.

My vote is for #2. But April and I are good with whatever you decide.

I can only do Saturday though.

Sorry John, but I can only do Saturday this time.  Are Sundays better for you in general?  And how much was that custom map if you don't mind me asking?

Okay let's do route #2, 10:00 AM meet time.  Was 7-11 an okay meeting spot or should we meet at Starbucks next door?

I vote for Starbucks.

Jim's vote wins!  Starbucks it is, right next door to 7-11.  See you guys at 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Starbucks works. You can go out the back of the little plaza without getting back on Foothill.
I need the sunshine in the morning, I'm heading for the open road.

No worries guys, have fun and be safe.

I can't remember how much the custom map was exactly, but I think it was in the neighborhood of $500 from Westcoast. Though in hindsight, I think I would have gone all out before the map (full exhaust instead of slip-on, high flow air filter, velocity stacks).

Just the slip-on and the map added 6hp to the wheel for 106 hp peak power. The most impressive part is that really smoothed out the powerband - the notorious 8-9K flatspot is all but gone...6hp added at 8K rpm. The butt dyno definitely confirms the results on the paper.

Big maybe - really jonesing for a real ride instead of PV.  However I am going to the LB Grand Prix both Saturday and Sunday - we'll see.

If I go with you guys I will be peeling off early to come back to the LBC.

wow that is huge... +6 at 8000, and that's not even peak.

I'm going to plan to make it.  I was hoping for a ride this weekend since I finally have a Sat. that is not busy!  :)
