Max & Aprilia at D-Store, 5/22

Good idea, I'll get one of those mailing tubes and wear a backpack.  And I just read the RSV4 will be there for demo rides!

Do you know how well publicized it was aside from the RRW article?

It's on their facebook page (The D-Store's) but other than that and the RRW posts (there have been a few though) I don't know.  I didn't see it on SCM but then again I haven't been on there much as of late.  I'm just assuming it will be a madhouse, hence the showing up early.  Worst case, I'm waiting around a little.   

Edit:  It's on SCM but hardly any interest.  I'm still thinking it will be crowded though.

great seeing everyone, test riding and meeting max!  Unfortunately I was a dumb ass and didn't tie up my backpack, so our max biaggi posters are on the 405 somewhere. I'm really sorry guys.

That was a good time today, great seeing everyone.

The only problem is now the waiting for my bike is worse, I would have been OK if I hadn't seen the blue one...

Too bad about the posters. At least everyone got something else signed by him and pictures.

LOL, good one Ray!    Good thing we got pictures, and I had him sign my helmet.  :p

I had a great time at the event.  It was cool to ride Jim's future bike - the same model at least.  I liked it better than the Super Duke.

Max was also nice and seemed pretty down to Earth.  I enjoyed hearing his story about how he started racing later in life than virtually all other racers - very cool!  I am now a fan of his.

Over the past couple of years I've realized a few things about Max.  Who else can say:

* 250cc champ (4 times)
* won multiple 500cc races
* won multiple 990cc races
* won multiple world superbike races
* instantly fast on every bike he's ridden:
** 250cc aprilia and honda
** 500cc honda and yamaha
** 990cc yamaha and honda
** world sbk suzuki, ducati (satellite) and aprilia

I found it much easier to relate to Max than say, Valentino.  I have no idea what it's like to be a god at anything (Valentino) but watching someone give it everything to sometimes win and many times fail is a more compelling story for me.

Max pulls the double at Miller! I would also have to say he won me over at the D-store. He seemed cool and  signed whatever anyone asked him too, including a.Rossi replica helmet.

Also,  Aprilia went 1-4 in race one one 1-2 in race two. They are now leading the  manufacturers championship.

Go Aprilia!!!

Also it looks like Aprilia will win the Manufactures title too.
